Register to Ride
WHEN: Saturday 25 July
WHERE: Coopers Lookout Park (just north of the Kawana Surf Club)

WHAT: 20km, 40km, 70km group rides and an eBike cruise (ride details below)
Registrations for non-members: $50
Join one of the 4 rides on offer. Registration includes a free sausage sizzle, public liability insurance and join any Club ride on our calendar until the end of the year. Please complete the form below and submit your $50 registration fee to our Club's bank account.

Membership benefits, other than the right to vote, will be available to you on completion of the application form and the payment of the registration fee. Your application will be acknowledged by email. Your right to vote and official membership will be automatic, unless, within 60 days of applying, the application is rejected by the club. If this occurs you will be notified in writing and all fees will be refunded. It is recommended you organise your own Personal Injury Insurance through Bicycle Queensland or a similar organisation. Please read and understand the terms of the Club's Public Liability Insurance.
70 km Hinterland Challenge (including Montville)
START 6:30am: Head west to Palmwoods then up to Montville. Enjoy the scenery and 788m climbing. Average speed: 27-30 km/hr and 2.30 to 3 hrs. Back around 9am for a sausage sizzle and coffee.
NOTE: This was initially 60 km however Montville is beckoning so now 70 km.

40 km Vista Ride
START 7am: Head north to Point Cartwright (take photos) then to Mountain Creek and Sippy Downs and back to a coastal ride via Bokarina and Warana to start. Lots of water views and different vistas and a few hills.
Average speed: 25 km/hr and 2.30 hours

eBike Coastal Ride
START 7:15am: Head south to Wurtulla lifeguard and Dicky Beach Surf Club to Kings Beach Surf Club and Golden Beach lifeguard tower. Return via Caloundra Golf Club along a path by Nicklin Way to Beerburrim Street to Currimundi Lake and back to start.
Note: This is a road ride using some pathways. Riders need to be experienced riding eBikes on roads. Average speed 23-25 km/hr and 1.15 hrs.

20 km Social Ride
START 7:30am: Head south along the Bokarina Beach pathway in a more leisurely pace. The 20km groups will use quiet roads and pathways along our beautiful coast. Average speed 15-20 km/hr and 1 hr 30 mins.

What Happens Before the Ride?
Register
Simply register online and select your preferred ride distance. Your registration fee helps support life-saving cardiac and transplant research through the Cycle of Giving Research Grant.

Once you have registered and paid, you will receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know before the day, including:
- Ride start times
- Event location and parking information
- Ride route details
- Safety information
- Contact details for event organisers
Stay Connected
We recommend downloading WhatsApp on your mobile phone before the event. The Sunshine Coast Bicycle Club uses WhatsApp to communicate with riders and provide important updates before and during the event.

What happens on the day?
Arrive Early
Please arrive 20–30 minutes before your ride start time to allow time for parking, check-in and meeting your ride group.
Limited parking is available at Coopers Lookout Park. Additional parking is available in nearby streets and shopping centre car parks within easy riding distance of the event hub.
Meet Your Ride Group
Each ride group will have a designated Ride Leader and Sweep (Tail-End Charlie). Look for your group near the event hub, BBQ area and registration point.
Your Ride Leader will provide a short briefing covering:
- The ride route
- Regroup and rest stops
- Road safety reminders
- Communication during the ride
- What to do if you need assistance
Enjoy the Ride
The Cycle of Giving is designed to be social, enjoyable and inclusive.
Our experienced Ride Leaders and Sweeps help ensure no one is left behind. There will be opportunities to regroup along the route, enjoy the scenery and meet fellow riders while supporting an important cause.
What Should I Bring?
We recommend bringing:
- A roadworthy bicycle
- Helmet (compulsory)
- Water bottle/s
- Spare tube and basic repair kit
- Mobile phone
- Sunscreen
- Cash or card for coffee and raffle tickets
After the Ride
After your ride, join us back at the event hub for a complimentary BBQ and social gathering.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow riders, volunteers, donor families, transplant recipients, local business supporters and members of the Sunshine Coast community.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?
You need to be confident on your bike. If you have never ridden in a group ride before just let your ride leader know. Riders who intend joining the 70 and 40 km rides should have a good level of bike fitness and experience. -
What should I bring?
Your roadworthy bike, a water bottle, sunscreen, cash or card, a helmet (mandatory), spare tube and basic repair kit, mobile phone and suitable bike clothes. -
What if I have a mechanical problem?
Your ride leader and sweep will look after you. If your bike can't be ridden, then we will pick you (and your bike) up in a car. -
What happens if it rains?
A message will be posted on the Club's website, facebook site and WhatsApp community. Light rain won't stop the event. Heavy rain will mean the event is postponed. -
Are there toilets and water available?
Amenities are provided near the Kawana Surf Club situated just south of the park. -
What pace will the groups ride?
The pace of each group is on the registration page. Please ensure you are capable of keeping pace with the group. Regular stops will be made for every group and a Sweep or Tail end Charlie ensures no one is left behind. -
Can non-members join?
Yes. Non-members are asked to contribute $50 that goes towards public liability insurance, organisation and the Cycle of Giving. -
Is the BBQ included?
Yes. The Club provides a free sausage sizzle at the end of the ride. There is also a coffee van so please bring cash or a card for your morning brew,
